Life
Life goes on with or without us. Make the best of every day and you'll have a good life. It wont be with out trials and tribulations but it will be worth living.Look for the positive in everything and you wont be a victim. See every event as a way to learn and grow and you will gain experience for the next major event. Make a difference in someones life. Give a hug or smile or a kind word, they go a long way and might mean the world to someone. Live and Live strong. Most of all give credit where credit is due. Mine goes to GOD

2013 starts
2013 is off and running and its been such a long time since I blogged anything. So many things has happened in the last 2 years. My Oldest boy had a brain injury from a 2 story fall off a roof and my middle boy have a serious thyroid scare and is dealing with that. I got in and out of a relationship a few times with the same gal. Thank God were still friends. I am not very good at the relationship thing but I do know what I want and don't want in my life now the trick is finding it.I am in the same job and cant wait till the Men's retreat on memorial day and 2013 Catalina trip in July. Lots of friends having babies lately. I have 3 beautiful boys and deff don't want anymore kids so that's been taken care of. My health could be worse considering the life I have lived. Thyroid meds and blood pressure pills help. Taking care of dad and enjoying my boys plus my A.A. family is so awesome I finaly want what I have and hey it could always be better but it could always be worse. Dave C aka Security

Long time no blog
So after 2 and a half years of dedicated service I got fired for calling in sick 1 day 10 and 1/2 hrs b4 shift. Rules say you have to call off 12hrs b4. I got fired for 1 and 1/2 hr difference. Sounds funny but the owner of the Security company is a power tripping ego maniac and his response to everything is fire them. He got mad because I gave him back the promotion and told them I did not want to be on call 24/7. He pretended everything was cool and let me go back to my old position but 1st chance he got (Ka Blam.) Glad to be gone. I don't want to work for people with no integrity or honesty. They were stupid and fired me with no paper trail no suspension and no reprimand.

5 year anniversary of Mom's Passing

Aug 1st 2004 aprox 5 am I was woke up to the call that my mom had passed away around 4am that morning . I had seen her at ST Joesph's around 6pm before the Sun night Step Study. She not opened her eyes or spoke in a couple of days I was holding her hand and as I was leaving I kissed her on the forehead and said I got to go to my meeting mom and I love you. Mom opened her eyes and told me she loved me and that was the last words she ever said to me. What A blessing and a lovely goodbye. Mom Is with GOD and we will meet again. Until then Rest in peace. I love you.

Switzer Falls Hiking
So I got sober 9 yrs now. I quit smoking 1 1/2 years now. I started eating healthy a month now and needed some exercise so I went hiking up in Angles National Forrest To Switzer Falls. The Hike is 1. 75 miles back in around and down winding switchbacks, Across streams and trees and boulders. The scenery is really cool and the people you meet along the trail are very friendly. It was a little much for someone who smoked 2 packs a day and hasn't exercised in 20 yrs or so but I made it. I am Planing to do some easier hikes and build up to going back and do this hike again and even bigger ones down the road. I had a good friend with me and she was great. I took some pictures so have a look.

Catalina trip 2009 Click here to view pictures

Catalina trip 2009 was Very fun. There was 11 people going but 4 backed out due to weather conditions looking bad.7 of us forged on and the boat ride over was cold but as we got to Catalina the sky's started clearing and it got to 70 and mostly sunny with a slight breeze. We ate at Antonio's pizza for break fast and then again for dinner. We ate ice cream and junk and walked the island shopping and people watching. We met the guys from the show Greek and played the ring game with them. I have never seen the show but they were cool to hang with. I bought a nice pair of Blue Planet board shorts for this summer. We took the glass bottom boat tour and that was awesome. The water is so clear and there are thousands of fish. I took lots of pictures and some video. Here is a preview of a few pics.

Life in these times
I am so blessed to be alive sober and have a great job that I love doing and good at. I spent my whole life trying to fit in to areas I didn't belong in and really didn't fit. Life was a constant struggle and seemed pointless. I got to lead a meeting in atwater today with some friends and then took pops out for his 70th birthday lunch.
I have my meeting tonight and then my sons and dad and I are going out for dinner. I am getting excited one month from now we are going to vegans to celebrate my son Justin's 21st birthday. Sp will be 24 on may 12th and David Jr. will be 13 on may 13th. Live every day like its your last cause one day it will be. My memories are one of the greatest gifts GOD has given to me

Starbucks, A friend and a green tea frapp.
A friend and i were having a convo about teas, drinks and Starbucks. My friend suggested that i try a green tea frapp. Tonight i ordered one and took a sip hmm i thought to my self. The next thought was i am a goat in a meadow grazing on fresh cut grass. Now at this point is where most people would stop drinking it and toss it away but not me hmmm again I thought that was weird and very different. I took another sip and got the same reaction as the 1st time i tried it. I said to my self this is horrible but being green tea it must be good for me right? I drank some more. Now at this point i said to myself, self you must be crazy you know it is horrible but you keep drinking it. Needless to say i finished it, scratched my head and chalked it up to experience to never listen to a friend again. Ummm no. Drink Starbucks green tea frapps. If you like grazing in fields then its all you kid.

Its been awhile

If you ever wondered whats on the back of Mt. Rushmore well wonder no more.
I haven't blogged much as of late well truthfully not at all. With face book and work yes i said face book. I am addicted to mafia wars and mob wars and now I'm hooked on yo ville arghhhhh. I played poker last night and walked away with 175.00 after a 50.00 buy in so i made 125.00. The Best hand of the night was against my buddy Josh. I had pocket aces and he had pocket kings. We got all the money in pre flop and no king or straight hit so i won a big pot. It was one of those nights where i couldn't do anything wrong. Clint took a good pot off me but i figured out what was going on and saved myself some money on that hand. All in all it was a great night. My oldest boy SP and Dad and i went to corral and had breakfast and called it a night. I am off to go see a movie and eat chipotle with my other son Justin. Peace Love And Happiness to all who read this.

American Airlines Now Charging Fees To Non-Passengers
American Airlines Now Charging Fees To Non-Passengers
Link to the original story
FORT WORTH, TX—Cash-strapped American Airlines announced a new series of fees this week that will apply to all customers not currently flying, scheduled to fly, or even thinking about flying aboard the commercial carrier.

American Airlines has promised never to raise its fees for not printing a boarding pass.
The fees, the latest introduced by American Airlines in a continuing effort to combat its financial woes, will take effect on Monday. According to company officials, these charges will include a $25 tax on citizens traveling with any other airline, as well as a mandatory $30 surcharge for passengers who decide to just stay home for the holidays instead.
"Tough times unfortunately mean tough measures," American Airlines president Gerard Arpey said. "It's never an easy decision to ask our loyal customers, as well as thousands of people chosen at random out of a telephone book, to pay a little extra, but that's just the reality of today's economic climate. We hope all Americans will understand this when receiving one of our new bills in the mail. SEND ME A BILL AND THiS WHAT YOU'LL GET BACK IN IT.
